Terms of use
Last updated : 2026-09-26
These terms and conditions of use (‘Terms of Use’) govern access to and use of the QanounIA platform, published by LEGAL COUNSELLORS OF AFRICA (LCOA). By creating an account or using the service, you unreservedly accept these Terms of Use and our privacy policy.
1. Subject
QanounIA is a legal assistance and management platform for legal professionals, companies, students and individuals in Morocco. It offers an AI assistant, matter management, invoicing and payroll tools, as well as legal content.
2. Account and eligibility
Creating an account requires accurate and up-to-date information. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity carried out from your account. Any unauthorised use must be reported to us without delay. The service is restricted to persons with legal capacity to enter into contracts.
3. Subscriptions, pricing and payment
- The service is offered through several free or paid plans, described on the page Pricing. Detailed commercial terms (pricing, payment, invoicing, refunds) are set out in our terms and conditions of sale.
- Prices are stated in dirhams (DH). Paid subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually depending on the chosen plan.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of its term, unless cancelled before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time from your settings ; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, during which access remains available.
- We may change prices; any change will be communicated to you and will apply from the next billing period.
4. Refund and right of withdrawal
- Right of withdrawal (consumers). In accordance with Law No. 31-08 on consumer protection, if you are an individual or a student, you have a withdrawal period of seven (7) days from the date of taking out a paid subscription. However, this right no longer applies once the provision of the service has begun with your express consent (for example, use of the AI assistant or paid features).
- Monthly subscriptions. They are not eligible for a pro-rata refund once the period has begun; cancellation simply prevents the next renewal.
- Annual subscriptions. Amounts paid are non-refundable for periods already started; the service remains accessible until the end of the paid period.
- Exception. In the event of a major malfunction attributable to QanounIA that is not resolved within a reasonable time, a full or partial refund may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
- Refund requests must be made in writing to contact@qanounia.com.
5. AI assistant — information, not legal advice
The AI assistant and generated content provide general legal information for guidance only. They do not constitute personalised legal advice and do not create any lawyer–client relationship. QanounIA does not guarantee that generated responses are complete or error-free. For any important decision, consult a lawyer or a qualified professional. You remain solely responsible for your use of the content produced.
6. Your content and data
You retain ownership of the content and data you import or create on the platform. You grant us only the rights necessary to host and process this content to provide you with the service. You warrant that you hold the rights to the content you process and undertake to comply with any professional secrecy obligations that apply to you.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to :
- use the service for unlawful purposes or purposes contrary to public policy;
- attempt to bypass security, access other users' data or overload the infrastructure;
- upload unlawful or defamatory content or content that infringes third-party rights ;
- resell or exploit the service without authorisation.
8. Service availability
We endeavour to ensure the availability and security of the platform, without guaranteeing uninterrupted access. Maintenance or incidents may occasionally affect access to the service.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, QanounIA's liability is limited to the amounts actually paid by the user over the last twelve (12) months. QanounIA shall not be liable for indirect losses or the consequences of decisions made solely on the basis of AI-generated content.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account in the event of a breach of these Terms of Use. You may terminate your account at any time through your settings or by contacting us.
11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use are governed by Moroccan law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance shall, failing an amicable resolution, be submitted to the competent courts of Casablanca.
